LAB2 wants everyone to be able to use this site and to take part in our workshops, including people with disabilities. This page says honestly where we stand, what is not yet fixed, and who to talk to.
The standard we work to
We aim for the Israeli Standard IS 5568, which is based on WCAG 2.0 level AA, as required under the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities Regulations (Service Accessibility), 2013.
What has been done
- Text is served as real text, not as images of text, so it can be read by screen readers and resized.
- Pages use semantic headings and landmarks, and can be navigated by keyboard.
- Images that carry meaning have alternative text.
- Layouts respond to zoom and to smaller screens without losing content.
- Forms have visible labels, tied to their fields.
- Buttons and links that are drawn as graphics carry a text name, so a screen reader announces the same words a sighted visitor reads.
- The mobile menu, when closed, is out of the keyboard tab order.
Known limitations
We are not there yet, and it would be dishonest to claim otherwise. As of the date above:
- On the project pages (imagine-spaces, watchit), the navigation links are black on purple and reach a contrast ratio of 4.16 where 4.5 is required.
- The large 01 counter on the home page is set in a very light grey on white.
- Small labels in the website audit tool and on the project ideas page are olive green on lime, below the required ratio at that size.
- Parts of the sort-my-life page use light greys on white.
- The interactive tools have not been tested end to end with a screen reader.
- Embedded videos have no captions.
- Some decorative animations cannot be paused.
- Content hosted by third parties, such as the payment page, Zoom, and WhatsApp, is under their control and their own accessibility terms.
We fix these as we go. If one of them blocks you right now, tell us and we will give you the same information or service another way, by email, by phone, or in a document that works for you.
Workshops
Our workshops run live on Zoom. If you need captions, a recording, materials in advance, extra time, or any other arrangement, write to us before the session and we will arrange what we can.
